Crafted with Buffalo Trace barrels from 1995, 1996, and 1997, this bourbon is a hard-to-find sipper.
Buffalo Trace Distillery produces some of the most sought-after bourbons in the world. Created using some of the oldest barrels they had on hand, The Last Drop 27 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a near-perfect mix of bourbons distilled in 1995, 1996, and 1997. Created by Buffalo Trace Master Blender Drew Mayville and Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley, the result is a bright bronze-gold spirit that exudes aromas of seasoned oak, cherry, date, baking spices, and rye. At first sip, it sets a base of oak tannins, building from there with layers of caramel, dark chocolate-dipped cherries, tobacco, and leather. A long, satisfying finish follows, with notes of dried fruits, caramel, and oak spice. Limited to just 508 bottles worldwide, it comes in a 700ml vessel alongside a 50ml miniature that lets you have a taste without dipping into the main bottle, which is best reserved for special moments, either in quiet reflection or shared among close friends.
