Jony Ive, Apple's former chief design officer, adored his time sailing growing up, memories he drew from while collaborating with Balmuda to design a stainless steel maritime light styled after old nautical lanterns and Fresnel lamps. It runs on two LEDs instead of a flame, but a single dial controls both brightness and color temperature, sliding from cool to warm so the light can mimic fire without any of the upkeep flame would need at sea. The body is precision-machined stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish, a gold lens guard, and precision-ground glass, and it hangs from a textured polyester lanyard built to resist salt, sun, and oil. Limited to a run of 1,000.
