Leica Noctivid Compact 10x25 Binoculars

Leica built the Noctivid Compact 10x25 binocular small enough for a jacket pocket without losing what makes its full-size models sharp. The phase-corrected roof prisms are paired with Leica's HighLux-System coating, the same combination the brand uses to recover detail at the edges of the frame, something most compact binoculars lose. The body is machined from aluminum instead of magnesium alloy, sealed and nitrogen-filled against fog, and rated waterproof to 16.5 feet, folding down through a double-hinge design into a shape no bigger than a deck of cards. At 10x magnification with a 25mm lens, it holds a 300-foot field of view at 1,000 yards, wide enough to track a moving subject without losing it at the edges. The whole thing weighs about 13.5 ounces, designed at Leica's headquarters in Wetzlar, Germany, and hand-built at the company's optics factory in Famalicão, Portugal.
