Created to serve the lifeguards of Hawaii, this capable diver doubles as a solid every day watch.
Serving as a lifeguard in the wild Hawaii surf is not for the faint of heart. The Hawaiian Lifeguard Association knows this, and these watches were created with those lifeguards in mind. The HLA5402 is an all-black dive watch, sporting a brushed stainless steel case with IP black plating and a unidirectional rotating 60-minute bezel. The dial is also black, with a thick lume applied to the hands and markers for underwater legibility, and a smaller dose surrounding the date window at 3 o'clock. It's powered by a dependable Japanese quartz movement, has a screw-down crown and caseback to ensure 200-meter water resistance, and sits on a black rubber strap with a pattern on the back meant to boost ventilation.
