First introduced in 1930s, this 10-drawer tool chest is equally well-suited to valuables storage.
H. Gerstner & Sons have been building wooden tool chests since 1906, so when they label one as their "most iconic", it's worth paying attention. They reserve that praise for the 2610 Journeyman, a sizable affair designed to provide ample storage while maintaining portability. Both the top compartment and all ten drawers are felt-lined, with the latter protected by a lockable front panel that folds underneath the bottom drawer when in use. The combination of felt and wood construction help keep moisture at bay, and thus the precision tools (or valuables) inside rust-free, with the center drawer sized to hold a mechanics handbook but equally useful for holding a wallet, keys, or drill index. Crafted by hand in Dayton, OH.
