Built by hand in Dayton, OH, this tool chest is a throwback to a time of prideful craftsmanship.
Back when machinists and craftspeople brought their own tools to a job, the tool chest was a signal that they took their craft seriously — and a Gerstner was as serious as you could get. Their modern chests, like the 2007 Classic, are built with the same care. This specific model is inspired by the Style 41 series, which was the storied brand's most popular from the 1920s to the 1980s. It's built from kiln-dried natural walnut that's given a three-stage hand-rubbed lacquer finish, with a flat, Shaker-style front lid that slides underneath the bottom drawer when in use. A total of seven drawers, all shaped, planed, and fitted by hand are joined by a generous top well to provide storage for precision tools large and small alike, and are felt-lined and cushioned for protection. All the hardware is designed to last a lifetime or more, and thanks to the moisture-absorbing characteristics of wood, anything stored inside is well protected against rust. Equally well-suited to storing hobby tools or valuables, each one is built by hand in Dayton, OH.
