This 17-year-old whisky pays tribute to a limited Dickel release that was an award-winner and fan favorite.
When a rare whiskey takes home awards and becomes a fan favorite, it's worth repeating. That was the case with George Dickel's 17-Year-Old Reserve. That initial release was a limited offering, and this new one aims to re-create the now legendary spirit. A thorough search through the Dickel rick houses found whisky aging in barrels very similar to the ones the original matured in, and once they hit their 17th birthday, they were bottled at cask strength. The result pays homage to the original while offering subtle contrasts to help it stand apart. Aromas of crème brûlée, apricots, and juniper draw you in, while vanilla, oak, and rich cedar help define each sip.
