Based in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, Dark Arts is a blending, re-barreling, and finishing house dedicated to elevating whiskeys. This rye whiskey is one example distilled in 2015 in Indiana and put into barrels to test the barrels' strength. Sadly, most of the rye whiskey leaked and the test ended. What was left was re-barreled and later secured by Dark Arts. At the 8.5-year mark, the remaining whiskey was blended and bottled at a cask strength proof. The final yield was just over 1,000 bottles and is full of flavor, with notes of orange rind, honey, green apple, and caramel.
