Editor’s Note

By July 29, 1965, Michael Caine had traded his birth name, Maurice Micklewhite, for a stage name, played Lieutenant Gonville Bromhead in Zulu, and starred as the spy Harry Palmer in The Ipcress File, the film that made him a name-above-the-title star. Stephan C. Archetti photographed him that day reading a copy of the Evening News. Caine went on to win two Academy Awards, for Hannah and Her Sisters and The Cider House Rules. Each framed print is made to order in the U.S. and numbered, with the story behind the photograph attached on the reverse.
