Editor’s Note

Brutalist architecture played a major role in Great Britain's efforts to rebuild post-WWII. Brutal Britain examines these structures with both words and paper models. The first part of the book includes color illustrations and informative text on each building, while the second half features press-out models. Featuring The Toast Rack in Manchester, No. 1 Croydon tower, and the now-destroyed Birmingham Central Library, it opens with a foreword from architectural historian Barnabas Calder and is a great introduction to this distinctive architecture style.
