A four-grain, high-rye mashbill gives this award-winning bourbon a rich, complex, and balanced taste.
The mashbill of a bourbon has a huge impact on its flavor. In the case of Brother's Bond Original Cask Strength, its mix of 65% corn, 22% rye, wheat, and barley creates an award-winning spirit. It's crafted using a copper column and copper pot-doubler distillation method before spending at least four years in virgin American oak barrels with a deep #4 char on the staves and #2 char on the heads. The resulting liquid is a satisfying gold color, with aromas of caramel, vanilla, and sweet ripe banana giving way to a palate of dried fruit, orange marmalade, walnut, warm rye bread, and honey. A lengthy, spicy finish follows, exhibiting hints of leather and subtle smoke.
