The process for creating this barrel smoked syrup begins with organic Vermont maple syrup that is smoked slowly over pieces of wood that once made up a Willett bourbon barrel. This is done a very low temperature to impart subtle smoke that doesn't overpower the sweet, buttery flavor. The bourbon barrel pushes forward notes of vanilla, butterscotch, and of course bourbon that makes for one of the most unique old fashioned cocktails you've ever tasted.
