A six-piece mechanical puzzle with shifting symmetry and a deceptively difficult solution.

Six identical pieces come together to form something that looks less like a traditional puzzle and more like an object from another dimension. Craighill's Andromeda reworks the classic six-piece burr puzzle with shifting symmetry, subtle spirals, and a form that refuses to settle into a familiar geometric category. Heat-forged aluminum gives each piece the precision needed for its intricate interlocking construction, while a black anodized finish emphasizes the near-fractal surface. Designed by George I. Bell, it's a dense mechanical puzzle that's as interesting to hold and examine as it is difficult to solve.
