In partnership with Unimatic, we've created an ultra-minimal chronograph in a sandblasted PVD gunmetal finish.
Unimatic's U3 is already a fairly minimalist timepiece. For our collaboration version of the same model, we worked with the Italian horologists on a version that sticks even closer to Dieter Rams' "less and more" ethos, and the result is a watch that captures the essence of the U3 with the bare minimum of ornamentation. The dial of the U3-U Chronodiver has been stripped of all excessive markers, with the indices represented by lume-filled outlines and the matte aluminum bezel having just a single raised lume dot. Despite the spartan aesthetic, it remains a fully-functional two-complication chronograph, with a Meca-quartz Seiko VK64 movement that combines the accuracy of quartz with the crisp feel and performance of a mechanical chronograph. A thick double domed anti-reflective sapphire lens sits on top. The case is a sandblasted PVD gunmetal grey, a case treatment that's a first for Unimatic and was inspired by similar finishes that were applied to vintage Heuer chronographs. It arrives with a storm gray TPU two-piece strap and a black heavy-duty Unimatic nylon NATO strap, both with sandblasted gunmetal PVD finish hardware, accompanied by a tough case that holds both this watch and another, and a Unimatic x Uncrate warranty card for the two-year worldwide warranty. Limited to just 100 examples worldwide.
