Master whisky blender Max McFarlane has over four decades of experience, which made him an ideal candidate to lead The Art of the Blend's first release. The new label will have a different lead for each release, who's given complete freedom to develop their signature blend. In the case of No. 1, McFarlane blended three first-fill Oloroso sherry casks from Glenrothes, Craigellachie, and Aultmore, mixing them for an IWSC award-winning dram. Scents of brown sugar and dark chocolate give way to a balanced, spicy palate of sherry trifle and chocolate brownies, with a lengthy, raisiny sherry finish. Limited to just 1968 bottles worldwide.
