Shinola's lineup of divers gets a blacked-out makeover with this black ceramic automatic timepiece.
Shinola's Monster is a reasonable take on the classic diving watch. With this reference, it skews more sporty than formal, thanks to a stainless steel case and unidirectional bezel insert given a lightweight, scratch-resistant black ceramic plating. The watch is powered by a Swiss-made SW200-1 automatic movement boasting a 38-hour power reserve that's visible through the exhibition case back. A wave pattern on the black dial provides a textured backdrop for the lume-filled indices and hour/minute hands. It's finished with a date window at 4 o'clock, red highlights that reference the fireboats of the Great Lakes, and an integrated black rubber strap.
