Charles and Ray's iconic lounge chair presented with a classic walnut shell and black leather upholstery.
In 1956, Charles and Ray set out to reimagine the English club chair with "the warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman's mitt." The design duo succeeded, and nearly 70 years later, the Eames® Lounge Chair & Ottoman is a 20th-century icon. Presented with a walnut shell and Maharam Prone Obsidian Leather, the classic pairing replicates the chair's original character, a choice that complements any interior aesthetic. While the look remains the same, so does the dedication to quality. Each chair is still hand assembled, shells are constructed from seven-ply veneer, cushions are individually upholstered, and its base is made from die-cast aluminum. Aside from looking like a mid-century work of art, it's designed for comfort and support, and its plush cushions develop their own unique character over time.
