Código 1530 Mezcal Ancestral Joven offers a rare connection to the traditional craft of Oaxaca mezcal, produced entirely by hand in partnership with generations of local artisans. Made from 100% papalome maguey, the agave is cooked in an earthen oven, hand-mashed, fermented in hides in the open air, and distilled in clay pots. There is no machinery or automation in the process, allowing the character of the agave and the nuances of the ancestral methods to come through in every bottle. Best enjoyed neat, where its traditional production can take center stage.
