Veja Belem Nolyn Sneakers

Nylon was first developed in 1935 for its strength, elasticity, and resistance to heat and water, and became a wartime staple sewn into parachutes before turning up in everyday socks and clothing. VEJA's Belem reworks that same material into something it calls NOLYN, built from 54 percent polyester and 46 percent recycled polyester rather than virgin nylon, keeping the durability and feel while cutting down on new material. The rest of the shoe follows the same logic: an insole blending Amazonian rubber, sugar cane-based bio-EVA, recycled EVA, and organic cotton, a midsole built primarily from sugar cane-based bio-EVA, and an outsole combining Amazonian rubber with mineral silica and synthetic rubber. Suede and leather panels sit over the NOLYN upper, with organic cotton laces and a fully recycled polyester lining, and every pair is made in Brazil.
