Pickleball may be the ultimate "dad" sport, started in 1965 when Washington state legislator Joel Pritchard returned from a round of golf on Bainbridge Island to find his family bored. Pritchard lowered a badminton net, grabbed some ping pong paddles and a wiffle ball, and invented a sport now played by nearly 20 million Americans.
