Few photographs capture the glamour of mid-century Palm Springs quite like Slim Aarons' Poolside Gossip. Taken in 1970 at the Kaufmann Desert House, designed by architect Richard Neutra for Edgar J. Kaufmann, the image shows Lita Baron approaching Helen Dzo Dzo and Nelda Linsk beside the pool. The vivid colors, desert light, and striking modernist architecture create one of Aarons' most recognizable compositions, bringing together the worlds of design, leisure, and Southern California society. Reproduced on archival Fuji Crystal Archive paper and custom-framed by hand, it's an enduring image of California modernism at its most glamorous.
