MWC uses a covert, matte black finish typically reserved for military contracts, vital for special forces and anti-terrorist units where a reflective watch case can get someone killed. The finish isn't painted on, it's set into the steel at a molecular level to allow it to survive the kind of wear that would flake a cheaper coating away. Other adventure-ready characteristics include a sapphire crystal less prone to cracking than standard mineral glass, a case rated to 660 feet of water resistance, deep enough for diving and rough water activities, and a 24-hour GMT hand for tracking a second time zone.
