Lincoln in Dalivision is a mixed-media work, a 1977 photolithograph with original etched remarque and embossing. It references Dalí's earlier painting of his wife and muse, Gala, contemplating the Mediterranean Sea. Viewed up close, the scene is exactly that. Step back 65 feet, and it resolves into a portrait of Abraham Lincoln. The concept traces to Bell Labs researcher Leon Harmon's 1973 photomosaic of Lincoln, which Dalí encountered and translated into paint between 1974 and 1976. This example is edition 53 of 350, hand-signed and numbered in pencil by Dalí.
