Made for both photo and video, Leica's SL3-S has a 24-megapixel sensor and a speedy hybrid AF system.
Since its launch in 2015, Leica's SL-System cameras have combined full-frame photography with impressive video chops. That continues with the SL3-S. At its heart is a new BSI CMOS sensor with a 24-megapixel native resolution and 48- and 96-megapixel multi-shot modes. That's paired with advanced phase detection, depth map, and contrast detection autofocus for continuous shooting with full autofocus support up to 30fps — the fastest ever for a Leica system camera. On the video front, it offers 6K resolution and 3:2 open-gate recording for after-the-fact aspect changes. 5.9K/30 HDMI-RAW can be sent to external display recorders, while ProRes 4:2:2 HQ in 5.8K at 30 fps or C4K at 60 fps can be captured internally thanks to the CFexpress type B slot (there's a UHS-II SD slot as well). With an IP54-certified solid all-metal body and compatibility with a huge range of lenses, it's ready for any creative endeavor.
