Charles and Ray Eames introduced their Molded Plywood Lounge Chair with Wood Base, also known as the LCW, in 1946. The seat and back are five-ply, while the legs and back brace are eight-ply for added strength; rubber shock mounts sit between the components to prevent jarring movements.
