The 1962 US Open was held at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania and was the beginning of one of golf's most intense rivalries. Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer squared off in an 18-hole Sunday playoff which ended with the 22-year-old Nicklaus winning the first of his record 18 major championships.
