Editor’s Note

Leica's legendary line of rangefinder cameras dates back to the 1954 launch of the M3. The M11 continues this legacy. At its heart is a 60-megapixel full frame BSI CMOS color sensor with triple resolution technology, allowing it to use the full sensor to output image files in DNG and JPEG format at 60, 36 or 18 megapixels. Offering the highest dynamic range of any M camera to date with a native ISO of 64 and up to 15 stops of dynamic range, it's paired with a Maestro III processor for high-speed performance and an optional electronic shutter capable of speeds up to 1/16,000 sec, negating the need for ND filters in bright light. Built around the same M-mount as the original, it's compatible with nearly 70 years of lenses, and has 64GB of internal storage, a UHS-II SD card slot for parallel saving, an improved Live View function for the 2.3-megapixel touch screen display, and 64% more battery capacity than its predecessor. Boasting the same tank-like build quality the line is known for, it's made in Germany.
