This year's Birthday Bourbon from Old Forester is the strongest to date and also the most elusive.
Since 2002, Old Forester has released a special bourbon to celebrate the birthday of the brand's founder: George Garvin Brown. And after two decades of annual celebrations, the 2024 release is unique in more ways than one. Hand-selected from 209 standout barrels, this year's Birthday Bourbon clocks in at 107 proof: the strongest to date. It's also likely the most difficult to acquire, with a select few lottery winners having access to purchase on-site at Louisville's Whiskey Row. The 12-year-old expression offers sweet fruity notes followed by toasted oak, warm cinnamon spice, and a subtle caramel apple finish.
