Shinola pays homage to Detroit's mid-century architectural gems with this design-forward timepiece.
While not as well-known as the many examples in Chicago, Detroit is home to several mid-century modern architectural marvels, including the Mies van der Rohe-designed Lafayette Park and the General Motors Design Dome. These structures inform the design of Shinola's Canfield Model C56. The timepiece has a black dial with alabaster Arabic numerals, a date window at 3 o'clock, and an alabaster outer ring, all of which provide a subtle contrast with the 43mm gunmetal case. It's powered by an Argonite 715 quartz movement that's hand-assembled in the Motor City and sits on a supple black aniline leather strap.
