Sir Stirling Moss was new to the Mercedes team in 1955; in fact, the 1955 British Grand Prix was his first win. This 1:8 scale model is a precise replica of Moss' ride as it crossed the finish line, the first in a group of four W196 Monopostos that dominated the race. Artisans referred to archival imagery to replicate the weathering picked up by the car during the race, only adding to the authenticity of the supremely detailed model. Handcrafted and finished with help from Mercedes-Benz and a digital scan of the original car, it arrives mounted to a base that also features the model title, original branding, and edition number, and protected by a clear acrylic dust cover. Limited to just five examples, it also comes with an archive quality Giclée print of the car as it crossed the line.
