The Balmuda MoonKettle draws its silhouette from the yakkan, a traditional Japanese medicine kettle, with a wide loop handle and rounded stainless steel body. A 1,200-watt element heats water quickly, with temperature adjustments from 122°F to 212°F in single-degree increments. A 30-minute hold function keeps water at temperature between pours. As it heats, a soft LED glow emanates from the base and a gentle chime signals when the target temperature is reached, with three brightness levels and three sound options. Designed in Tokyo, where the line between tool and ritual has always been thin.
