Asics' Gel-Lyte V debuted in 1993. So did rapper duo Tag Team, The Jerky Boys, and Shaquille O'Neal's rap career with Shaq Diesel. Unlike the latter three, the Gel-Lyte V has stood the test of time. In this bright blue and silver reimagining, the mesh and suede upper draws from discarded sketches from the design process. The base retains the wavy design of the original, with Gel cushioning in the heel for casual comfort.
