Artist Tom Sachs has always had a deep obsession with space and has used this passion as inspiration for many of his sculptures, including a 2007 installation called Space Program which consisted of a scale model of the Apollo lunar module, a mission control with 29 closed-circuit video monitors, and outfitted two female astronauts with handmade Tyvek space suits. He followed the project up In May 2012 with the Space Program 2.0: MARS exhibit at the Park Avenue Armory in New York. The book Tom Sachs: Spaceships explores the artist's love of space and his use of the theme throughout his work. It features 160 pages and full-color images of his most iconic pieces.
