A unique finishing barrel and process helps this new release from Bomberger’s stand out.
To add layers of flavor and complexity, many whiskey makers turn to secondary barrel finishes. But few have access to barrels like these. This small batch release from Bomberger's starts like many fine bourbons: with fully matured Kentucky Straight Bourbon aged in new charred American oak. What sets it apart is the finishing barrel, which is crafted from a blend of French oak sourced from the Tronçais, Allier, Nevers, and Vosges forests, and air-dried outdoors in France for at least 40 months. The result is worth the wait, delivering rich notes of dark chocolate, nutmeg, and cinnamon, followed by a long, warming finish that leaves you wanting more.
