Introduced in 1989, the EX89 was Toshikazu Kayano's first design project for Asics. The heritage basketball sneaker is being reintroduced with some modern performance enhancements three decades later. It maintains a vintage silhouette and features an upper constructed from leather overlays. The original grip pattern on the outsole is made to replicate the city view from the sky, an homage to Kayano's first visit to the US in 1987. The brand's FF BLAST technology upgrades the shoe's cushion system, while a sculpted heel shape improves comfort for everyday wear. This EX89 is finished with a white and illusion colorway inspired by retro NBA uniforms.
