AstorFlex is a family-run manufacturer that's been building their shoes by hand in Northern Italy for six generations. So while these BoatFlex loafers might look like many other boat shoes, their quality is immediately apparent. The vegetable-tanned calf leather lining and insoles are soaked in a mixture of water and powdered oak bark and mimosa, making them hypoallergenic and increasing sweat absorption — important traits for a shoe that's often worn without socks. The upper is available in casual suede or more formal leather and is stitched to a lightweight rubber outsole from XL that's segmented for flex and has light tread for grip on slippery waterside surfaces.
